You wake up in a motel room, the air conditioning unit rattling and humming quietly to fight off the haze of humidity and heat seeping in through the window. Neon light filters in from the buzzing sign outside. The day is lost to you; but that's the least of your problems. Despite the confusion, the panic, despite everything, all that matters to you is picking up the phone.
